Executive Recruitment

The following vacancies have arisen in the Authority:

  1. FINANCE, ADMINISTRATION AND HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR

Reporting to the CEO, the Director Finance, Administration and Human Resources shall be responsible for: –

  • Providing leadership, direction and management to ensure that administration, HR, finance of IT activities support the effective delivery of the organisation’s mandate
  • Providing strategic recommendations on matters related to the portfolio.
  • Control and coordinate the Authority’s accounting, HR, ERP and IT systems in line with applicable regulatory, professional and international standards/ requirements.
  • Overseeing the budgeting and financial planning processes.
  • Preparation of management and final accounts as appropriate for strategic management.
  • Spearheading the mobilization of financial and other resources needed to meet the mandate.
  • Establishing and developing relations with relevant stakeholders.
  • Liaison with external auditors.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • First degree in accounting, finance, banking, investments or business administration.
  • Postgraduate qualification in finance or business management desirable.
  • Membership to a relevant professional body.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience with at least 5 years at senior management level.
  • Regulatory experience and knowledge of government operating systems is a distinct advantage.

 

  1. COMPANY SECRETARY

Reporting to the CEO, the Company Secretary shall be responsible for the following: –

  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Providing secretarial services to the Board and Board Committees including convening of meetings.
  • Providing legal advice to the Board and Management.
  • Enforcing the compliance with the provisions of the Radiation Protection Act.
  • Preparing and distributing the annual report of the Authority.
  • Overseeing the corporate communications of the Authority.
  • Liaison with external legal counsel.
  • Overseeing the drafting of radiation protection related legislation.
  • Overseeing and maintenance of all legal documentation to ensure that the interests of the Authority are adequately protected or safeguarded.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • A Law degree.
  • Master’s degree in either law or commercial field (MBA, Strategic Management, Corporate Strategy, MBL, etc.)
  • Registration with the Law Society of Zimbabwe.
  • A minimum 10 years of corporate secretary and legal services experience, with at least 5 years as a senior manager.
  • Regulatory experience and knowledge of nuclear law provide an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of Government Operation Systems, including National Policies, Legal framework.

 

  1. HEAD INTERNAL AUDIT

Reporting functionally to the Board through the Audit Committee and administratively to the CEO, the Head of Internal Audit shall be responsible for the following: –

  • Preparing and seeking approval of annual a risk-based internal audit plan.
  • Conducting assurance engagements in accordance with IIA Standards.
  • Carrying out consultancy engagements throughout the Authority in accordance with IIA standards.
  • Communicating engagement results with senior management and the Audit Committee.
  • Ensuring the internal audit activity has access to appropriate resources regarding competency and skill.
  • Regular review of the internal audit charter.
  • Coordination with external auditors.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • First Degree in Accounting or equivalent is a must
  • A relevant professional qualification ( ACCA, CA, CIS, etc) required
  • Membership to a professional body
  • A minimum of 10 years relevant experience with at least 5 years at senior management level.
  • Audit experience in a regulatory and government systems will be an added advantage.

 

  1. Director -Technical Services

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director shall be responsible for providing leadership and guidance in the provision of regulatory and technical services of the Authority.

Qualifications and Experience

  • First degree in Natural or Applied Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environment and Radiography), Engineering is a must.
  • A Masters’ degree in Radiation Protection, Nuclear or Medical Physics, Safety and Environmental Management is a distinct advantage.
  • A postgraduate qualification in business management or corporate strategy is desirable.
  • At least 10 years relevant experience, with no less than 5 years as a senior manager.
  • Membership to a relevant professional board.
  • Demonstrated knowledge on International Safety Standards, Conventions, Codes and Protocols related to radiation safety and security of radioactive sources as well as emergency preparedness and response to radiological events.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic technical leadership to the organisation in order to deliver on the mandate in a sustainable manner.
  • Advise on policy, strategic and technical matters relating to radiation matters
  • Implement and maintain business and process improvement in all areas of technical services.
  • Ensure statutory compliance for technical services across the portfolio.
  • Evaluate implementation of strategies and policies in the Directorate and propose corrective measures.
  • Represent the Authority at regional and international forum in fulfilment of Zimbabwe’s obligations to various radiation protection agreements.
  • Training and development of technical staff in line with international best practices.
  1. Human Resources and Administration Manager

Reporting to the Finance, Admin and HR Director , the successful candidate shall be responsible for:-

  • Implementation and review of the administration and human resource policies.
  • Oversee recruiting and staff development.
  • Managing the payroll.
  • Develop, maintain and review the employment code in line with the labour law and regulations.
  • Managing the efficient utilisation and care of Authority resources including vehicles.
  • Handling employee complaints and violations, as well as any disciplinary action that may be necessary.

 

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • A first degree in human resources management or relevant social sciences.
  • Postgraduate business qualification
  • Professional certification, such as the IPMZ, is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in payroll software administration.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar job is required.
