The Radiation Protection Authority of Zimbabwe is organising the Second Radiation Safety Conference, which will be held from 1 to 4 July 2025 at Holiday Inn Bulawayo. On the sidelines of the conference, on 3 July 2025, a CEO and Decision Breakfast Meeting will be held.
Objective:
The objective of the Conference is to discuss the progression of the national radiation protection and safety infrastructure and provide a forum for the exchange of information on national experiences.
Theme: “Strengthening Radiation Safety and Security in a Constantly Changing Environment”, it shall be based on the following main thematic areas:
- National Framework for Radiation Safety and Security.
- Occupational Radiation Protection.
- Radiation Safety and Security Education and Training.
- Management of Radioactivity in Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM), Food and Drinking Water.
- Interface between Safety and Security.
- Radiation Safety within Emerging Technologies and Risks and,
- Towards Self Compliance with Industrial, Mining, Medical and Medicine radiation applications.
Target Audience
Representatives of other regulatory bodies with a responsibility for radiation safety, representatives of licensed facilities, radiation workers and their associations, unions, radiation protection and safety experts, urban and rural district councils, researchers and academic institutions, Technical Support Organizations, suppliers of radiation generating equipment, Radiation Safety Officers and Advisors, Regional and international cooperating partners, Exhibitors, and other interested parties.
